Privacy Policy
Effective 9 October 2026
Everything you log in Kapi stays on your device. Kapi has no account, and it never sends your doses, weights, check-ins, notes or health data anywhere. To improve the app and to manage subscriptions, it sends a small amount of anonymous usage and purchase information, described below. None of it is used for tracking or advertising, and none of it is sold.
What Kapi stores on your device
Kapi stores what you enter: your first name, medication, dose and schedule, the doses you log (date, dose, injection site, pain level, notes), weigh-ins, height and goal weight, and daily check-ins (side effects, appetite, energy, protein, water, notes). All of it is saved in a local database on your iPhone or iPad and is included in your regular device backups according to your own iOS settings. None of it is sent to us or to anyone else.
Anonymous app usage (Plumb)
Kapi sends app usage events to Plumb, our own analytics service, so we can see which parts of the app help people and where they get stuck. These events record things like which screens are opened, how far someone gets through setup, whether a reminder or Apple Health permission was allowed, which subscription plan was chosen, and when the app shows an error. Each event carries a random installation ID created by the app, the anonymous subscription ID described below, the app version, device model, iOS version, language and the country from your device's region setting.
Usage events never include your name, medication, doses, weights, height, goal, side effects, check-in answers, notes or Apple Health data. Kapi does not look up your location from your IP address and does not collect your location. This information is not linked to your identity and is not used for tracking.
Purchases (Apple and RevenueCat)
Kapi Plus is sold through Apple's App Store. Apple processes the payment; Kapi never sees your name, payment details or Apple Account information. See Apple's Privacy Policy.
Kapi uses RevenueCat to keep a record of subscriptions. When you start a trial, subscribe or restore a purchase, the App Store transaction (product, price, currency, dates and renewal status) is sent to RevenueCat under an anonymous ID that the app creates. RevenueCat passes subscription events (such as a trial starting, a renewal or a cancellation) to Plumb so we can see how subscriptions are doing. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
What Kapi does not do
- No account or sign-up.
- No advertising, no tracking across apps or websites, and no data brokers.
- No selling or sharing of data for advertising.
- Your logs and health data never leave your device, except when you export them yourself.
Apple Health
If you choose to connect Apple Health, Kapi reads your step count and body weight to show your activity and progress, and can write the weights you log. This data is read and written on your device through Apple's HealthKit framework. It is never sent to us or to anyone else, never included in usage events, and never used for advertising. You can turn off access at any time in the Health app.
Notifications
Dose and check-in reminders are scheduled as local notifications on your device. They are not sent through any server. Kapi records only that a reminder was opened, not its content.
Estimated levels
Medication-level charts are calculated on your device from the doses you log and published pharmacokinetic averages. No data is sent anywhere to produce them.
Exports
When you export your data as a CSV file, it leaves the app only through the iOS share sheet to the destination you choose.
Retention and deletion
Usage events are kept for as long as they are useful for improving the app. Because they are anonymous, we cannot connect them to you on our own. If you want the usage and subscription records for your installation deleted, email us and we will help. Settings > Delete all data wipes the local database, and deleting the app removes all app data from the device.
Children
Kapi is not directed at children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date.
